About
Hello, My name is Munji Kim. I'm working with various materials such as oil painting, acrylic, and digital.
In this year, I made a series of Korean traditional masks at Opensea collection, and presenting women portrait series as NFT in Foundation.
I want to explore invisible beings and experiences and convey the moment in pictures. My work is like the time when I read play actor's mind while watching them who doesn't speak a line.
When you look at actor or actress who doesn't say anything from the audience, various thoughts, or lives you can fill your head on your way. I have those feeling while I'm drawing. As a performer, Painting does not speak, but the audience hears and experiences different stories from them.
These silent 'creatures' sometimes tell a more vivid story than a living being, and it also provide appropriate comfort. I hope that everything that were hanging on my fingertips will be captured in your eyes for a moment and then have a sincere conversation with you.

INTERVIEW
WITH
ARTIST
Q1. What's the characteristic of NFT in Korea?
A. Although it is NFT Art that combines blockchain, a breakthrough technology in the present era, I have seen Korean artists use a lot of 'traditional' elements in their works. I also felt that the first NFT collection I made was a traditional Korean mask series, and Koreans had high self-esteem in their culture and history. No matter how advanced technology is, many people think that the artistry of Korea, which has been passed down, is a subject that cannot be omitted as a Korean.
Q2. Do you have any impressive memories or experiences about Thailand?
A. It was Thailand that I went to with my mom. I think it was a very happy memory because I liked Thai food and I liked the feeling that I could only feel at Thai temples and cultural sites. During the trip, I also had a chance to see traditional Thai dance, and I enjoyed the colorful costumes, accessories, and hand gestures as if they contained each meaning like sign language. I want to know more about Thai traditional culture.
Q3. What do you want to do when you have a Thai artist friend?
Or what do you want to do in Thailand?
A. I want to know what Thailand's tradition is, drawing pictures on one topic and holding an exhibition together, and if possible, I want to make a work that can make each other's traditions look good in one work.
Q4. Please tell me if you have any good ideas for continuous communication with Thai artists.
A. If the language problem can be solved through an interpreter, I hope we can have a time to listen to each other's voices and talk together. And I think drawing time together through discode or other programs will be possible on the web :)
Q5. Anything you want to say?
A. I'm happy to meet you all who are far away through NFT. I hope that many people watching our meeting can feel that our distance is not that far together.
I hope you and my days will be more brilliant!
